Skoda presents SUV number four, this time the fully electric Enyaq iV with a range of up to 510 km. Riders are offered a choice of rear and all-wheel drive, three battery capacities and five power variants.
Last night, Skoda unveiled the Skoda Enyaq in its homeland the Czech Republic. Because it is an electric car, the ‘iV’ label is added to the name. Today the new SUV may lead the peloton in the Tour de France. The Enyaq iV will also come into action as a Tour command car during the time trial and final stage.

Volkswagens MEB platform
For the first time, Skoda has developed an SUV on the modular platform MEB of the Volkswagen Group. That makes a lot of interesting developments possible. For example, the new Skoda is driven via the rear wheels as standard, but optional All-Wheel Drive is available. MEB is a so-called ‘skateboard platform’, which means that the battery pack is under the floor to save luggage and seating space. Although the Enyaq with a length of 4,649 meters is shorter than a Skoda Octavia, you can still store about as much in it as in the Kodiaq.
Three regular, two-wheel drive variants with power ratings varying between 109 and 150 kW, say 146 to more than 200 hp, will appear. The top model also appears in a four-wheel drive capacity. The range is completed by the RS performance model that can reach 100 km / h from a standstill in 6.2 seconds. The range of the regular versions is 340 to 510 km according to the WLTP test.
Skoda’s fourth SUV seems to look a bit more dynamic than the Kamiq, Karoq and Kodiaq. In addition to space, the car offers ‘Simply Clever’ tricks, including storage space for the charging cable under the floor. The brand also offers a cable for fast charging and three wallboxes for charging at home. The traction power of the Enyaq iV should not be ignored: 1,200 kg braked weight at an angle of up to 12 degrees, up to 8 degrees even 1,400 kg.

In the cabin, the 13-inch central display stands out. You are always online in the Enyaq. With the Skoda Connect app you can also control the air conditioning and battery charger outside the car. The well-known Skoda assistance systems you will of course also encounter in the new model. Travel Assist has been updated, as has the remote parking of the SUV.
Delivery
Skoda will take the Enyaq iV for sale immediately after this unveiling, although the Dutch importer has not yet released any information about orders. Nor can we say more about the prices than the brand will make them ‘affordable’. There will also be a Founders Edition – in a circulation of 1,895 units worldwide – that celebrates the founding of the company 125 years ago. This will be at the dealers in spring 2021.
