Volkswagen Golf TGI presented

Volkswagen is expanding the Golf delivery program with an engine version that consumes natural gas in addition to petrol. We welcome: the Volkswagen Golf TGI.

TSI, TDI, GTI, GTD, GTE: the abbreviations are flying around your ears in Volkswagen land. The delivery program of the Volkswagen Golf will soon be expanded with an engine version that brings another abbreviation to the price list of the Golf. We are talking about the Golf TGI, a version that can handle both petrol and natural gas (CNG).

The Volkswagen Golf TGI has a 130 hp 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo engine under the hood. The TGI machine can handle petrol, but is especially attractive because it likes natural gas. Under the rear seat there are three gas tanks, which together have a capacity of 115 liters (17.3 kilos). With this you should be able to get 400 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle. Have you run out of natural gas? No problem, the Golf TGI also has a small (9 liter) petrol tank. The TGI version is not reserved for the Golf hatchback, as the Golf Variant will also be available with the TGI engine.

Information regarding the Dutch market will follow soon.
