Mini has announced in teaser video that the ‘Vision Urbanaut’ is coming. It is probably a concept car that shows Mini’s vision for the future of mobility and the role of the car in it.
In a short video, Mini looks ahead at a concept car named Vision Urbanaut, which we will see soon. Apart from a few shots of a Mini Clubman, we don’t see a car yet. In that respect, we do not become much wiser from the images, although in one shot (see photo) there is already something under a canvas. In terms of shape, however, it is difficult to recognize a Mini, so the question is whether there is really a car underneath.
In any case, the people behind the Vision Urbanaut speak about the concept in promising words. Thus “the car is redefined with it”. It is also a “place to retreat to” and Mini asks itself “what good is this space if it doesn’t move”. All still quite cryptic, but it points to a concept car that may have different functions than the car as we currently know it. The video also divides a kind of seating area into a small area, so perhaps they are doing something special with the layout of the interior?
It was previously announced that Mini will come with two electrically powered crossovers. One of them will be an electric version of the Countryman, but another model will be purely electric and completely new. Who knows, the Vision Urbanaut is already a preview of that car. We will undoubtedly see it soon.
