The world has become small in 2020 now that we have to stay at home and work from home as much as possible. Some of the camper owners therefore see their cottage on wheels as an ideal workplace.
When you work from home, it can sometimes be difficult to keep work and private life separate. More than 2 percent of the camper owners have therefore set up their camper as a workplace, according to research by the NKC (Dutch Camper Club). A significant part of that, 41 percent, not only uses the motorhome as ‘extra space at the house’ to work in, but also actually takes it out to work elsewhere. 32 percent of the ‘camper workers’ even travel with it across national borders to work elsewhere. 27 percent just leave it at home as an office space.
NKC conducted the survey among 6,151 motor home owners. So roughly 123 of them use their motor home as a workspace. 3 percent of the respondents indicate that they do not yet do this, but are considering it. Even among people who do not yet have a camper, there appears to be enthusiasm for it. 5 percent are considering renting a motorhome as a workspace. For some it is an interesting concept, so it turns out. The alternation of surroundings and the escape from the hustle and bustle at home with several homeworkers are cited as the biggest arguments. NKC listed a number of tips to tackle working in a camper as well as possible.
