You see the street scene change. While the Volkswagen Golf used to be by definition at the top of the business lease car segment from € 20,000 to € 40,000, nowadays the most popular cars are a bit higher on the wheels.
The Kia Niro holds the number 1 spot firmly. The number of registrations is impressive, with 4,162 cars in motion. The success of the SUV or crossover is also reflected in the other models and brands in this segment. The Hyundai Kona (4) proves this with a nice 4th place. The Asian brands offer the business driver choice with their fuel, plug-in hybrid and 100 percent electric models. And that is appreciated. The Skoda Kodiaq (8) and the Volkswagen T-Roc (10) also show that sitting slightly higher is popular. The Kodiaq is the largest in this list and even has room for seven people.
Skoda is also well represented in this segment, because the Octavia (7) remains popular. Like the Volkswagen Golf (2) and Ford Focus (3), they maintain their long-standing dominance in this popular segment.
Technological innovation in the middle segment
It is striking that a number of well-known models continue to innovate in terms of design and technology. Models like the Skoda Octavia (7), Mercedes-Benz A-Class (9), BMW 1-Series (6) and the Toyota Corolla (5) have all earned their stripes over the years. As far as their looks are concerned, you can look great with all these models and under the hood there is always a powerful, but economical engine.
Nothing is missing in the cars either; the interior is equipped with an infotainment system with a large touchscreen. Via this system things like music, navigation and telephone connections can be controlled. This ensures that the necessary buttons on the dashboard remain limited and everything looks neat.
Nothing is more important than safety
In addition to the technology in the cockpit of the car, there has also been considerable innovation in the safety of the occupants and the environment. For example, the Focus and the Corolla protect you and your environment with advanced situation recognition and stop systems. The Volkswagen takes a step towards lighting technology with the IQ.LIGHT system, whereby the lights adapt to the situation. Great for your vision in the dark, but just as pleasant for oncoming traffic that is not blinded by bright lights.
Could it be a bit greener?
If, in addition to safety and advanced technology, you think that environmental aspects play an important role, our special of this month is an interesting option: the 100 percent electric Nissan Leaf. With its ProPilot you are always comfortable and safe on the road. Both the interior and the exterior of this car are built with as much recycled material as possible. And speaking of recycling, this car is 99 percent recyclable at the end of its life.
