Sales of new company cars in the European Union showed a minimal annual increase of 0.1 percent in November, to 167,315 vehicles. This is reported by the European automotive industry organization ACEA. Trucks are pulling the total towards growth. There was a significant dip in the Netherlands.
Sales of vans and buses in the European Union decreased in November, but that of trucks increased compared to last year. Pluses were seen in Italy and Germany last month, but sales of commercial vehicles fell in Spain and France. In the Netherlands this was a decrease of more than 9 percent. Last November 7,190 were sold here, this year 6,537.
In the first eleven months of this year, sales of commercial vehicles with more than 1.5 million units are still more than 20 percent lower than in the same period last year, as a result of the corona crisis. Sales fell in all EU countries. For the Netherlands, a contraction of more than 23 percent to more than 67,000 commercial vehicles was measured.
