Lamborghini Urus ‘Evo’ caught

You might not give it to it thanks to its eccentric and angular design, but the Lamborghini Urus will be four years old by the end of this year. Lamborghini is working on a modernized version, which may, just like the sharpened Huracán, get the addition ‘Evo’ after its name.

The Urus is Lamborghini’s absolute top seller. The brand sold 4,391 units of the power SUV last year, accounting for no less than 59 percent of the total Lambo sales. In the Netherlands, the Italians also farm well with the Urus. Since the market launch in 2018, 67 units have found a Dutch owner, 28 units more than the number of Huracáns sold in our country since 2014. Reason enough to keep it up to date. This set of spy photos shows the sharpened Urus in test costume for the first time.

The revised Urus, which, like the renewed Huracán, may receive the Evo addition after its name, is apparently not very drastically modified. Lamborghini apparently gives it a modified grille in the top layer of the front bumper, with an extra horizontal louvre. Lamborghini also seems to add a widening – or at least an extra opening – at the rear wheel arch. Count on the arrival of such things as a modernized infotainment system and new interior finishing materials.

The Lamborghini Urus in its current form has a 4.0-liter biturbo V8, which distributes 650 hp and 850 Nm to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. With that lump of primitive primal power, the approximately 2.2 ton SUV sprints to 100 km / h in 3.6 counts. The clock is 200 km / h in 12.8 seconds and the acceleration only stops when the digital speedometer has reached 305 km / h. Lamborghini may be able to pull a handful of horsepower and NMs extra from the 6.5 V8, but don’t count on a great power increase. Let’s face it, that is certainly not necessary.
