Jaguar E-type Reimagined from Helm Motorcars

The fact that the Jaguar E-type appeals to the imagination of many people seems a fait accompli. This time it is the English Motorcars that will build a special series of E-types Series I, original E-types that have been adapted in many areas.

The English Helm Motorcars, founded by E-type fanatic and restorer Chedeen Battick, is going to modernize twenty Jaguars E-type Series I in many areas. The cars, which can all be adapted entirely to the customer’s wishes, are equipped with more modern technology and an interior finished in the smallest corners with beautiful materials.

The E-type Reimagined from Helm is built around an almost 70 percent renewed chassis of the original E-type. The bodywork gets new aluminum doors and an aluminum bonnet. The E-types will include ventilated brake discs, six-piston calipers, Avon ZZ tires and a manual five-speed gearbox. That five-speed gearbox is coupled to a 3.8 six-in-line, a machine that also works in the E-type Series I. In Helm’s E-type Reimagined, however, that block is 304 hp strong. Indeed, just as powerful as the 3.8 that Jaguar hung in an edition of 12 pieces built Lightweight E-type. The cooling system has been renewed and the complete wiring harness is also new, down to the smallest cable. Soft Closing Doors are of the party, the same applies to windscreen heating, special light metal, an adjustable chassis, variable electronic power steering, a new exhaust system and new light metal. The E-types cannot even escape LED lighting all around.

Helm Motorcars also pays attention to the interior of the E-Type Reimagined. The company has hooked up ‘leather specialist’ Bill Amberg Studio to this. The E-types Reimagined have an extra insulated interior in which the necessary square meters of leather and suede have been fitted. There is LED interior lighting, an audio system with Bluetooth functionality, air conditioning, adjusted clocks and four special travel cases.

An eternal waste or a nice adaptation of the E-Type?
