Techrules focuses on turbine as a range extender

Techrules, the Chinese company that we know from among others the special hypercar Ren, will focus on the production of turbine generators. These can be used, among other things, as range extenders for electric cars.

Two years ago Techrules pulled the curtain off the Ren RS, an electrically driven hypercar with a generator driven by a solid turbine as a range extender. An impressive device, but apparently not the ideal business model for the Chinese company. Now it will focus on the supply of generators that are powered by smaller turbines. According to Techrules, these can be used as generators for remote industry and buildings as well as in vehicles.

This year a 45 kW turbine generator will be installed which, according to Techrules, is particularly suitable as a range extender for larger electric vehicles. Next year a 15 kW model for smaller EREVs will follow. The turbines enjoyed biofuels such as biogas, bio-ethanol and bio-methanol, in order to keep the emission of harmful substances as low as possible. In addition to electricity, they can also provide heating and cooling. This is of course especially interesting for use in mobile or remote housing.

Techrules does not name parties that want to use the technology, but focuses on a production of 100,000 copies of the 45 kW turbine generators. According to the company, several large companies are already interested in China and abroad. We are curious whether we will eventually see this technology in passenger cars.
