The largest iMac currently measures 27 inches, but the new model will get an even larger screen. That claims a well-known tasty. Apple is set to release the new iMacs later this year.
Bigger screen in new iMac
Apple currently sells two variants of the iMac: one with a 21.5-inch screen and a larger model with a 27-inch display. According to tasty L0vetotdream, which more often disseminates correct information about new Apple products, the new iMac will have an even larger screen. Unfortunately, he does not mention an exact size, but does say that the display is ‘very, very large’.
It is no surprise that Apple is working on a refresh of the iMac. Bloomberg wrote earlier this year that the iMac will be completely redesigned with larger screens in 2021. Apple would also provide the computer with thinner edges and a flat back. In addition, the iMac probably runs on a new version of Apple’s own M1 chip, which we currently find in the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. This would make it considerably faster than the current model.

So how big the new iMac will be, remains to be seen. It may be close to Apple’s high-end Pro Display XDR. That is a 32 inch screen with 6K resolution, aimed at graphics professionals. Given the hefty price tag of the Pro Display XDR, we do expect the iMac to get a slightly less good screen quality.
These new Apple products are coming
We don’t know at this point when Apple will announce the new iMac with a larger screen. We may face the computer at the Apple event in April. We think we will see a new iPad Pro and the long-awaited AirTags, Apple’s small bluetooth tracker.
Apple could also postpone the launch to WWDC 2021, the annual app developers’ conference. We also expect the unveiling of iOS 15, the new software update for the iPhone.
