Tip: this is how you empty the temporary storage of various Apple apps

Are you experiencing problems with the App Store or is the Apple Watch app not working? Then you can empty the temporary storage with a handy trick, so that the apps work properly again in many cases.

Empty temporary storage

As with Safari, you can also clear the cache (temporary storage) of the App Store, Apple Watch app, iTunes Store or iBooks. With the former app, go to ‘Settings> Safari’ and tap ‘Clear history and website data’. With the other apps you have to perform a trick to achieve the same.

For example, open the App Store and press the same button (Featured, Charts, Discover, Search or Updates) ten times in a row at the bottom of the screen. Then the image will light up white for a moment, after which all temporary data will be erased and the app will be refreshed. You will now see the most recent version of the application and it should work properly again.
