’70 percent of Europeans are considering purchasing EV ‘

It is clear that electric driving is on the rise. Nissan had researched how European consumers view it now and that yielded some striking figures.

It may be a bit of a ‘we from WC Duck’ case, but Nissan had marketing research company OnePoll find out how European consumers view electric driving and that turns out to be quite positive. Of the 7,000 respondents living in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands, 70 percent said they would consider an electric car as the next car. The most frequently cited reason is the positive impact they expect to have on the environment. Of the people who are not yet considering it, a majority (58 percent) indicate that the expected limited driving range is still holding them back.

However, the majority (70 percent) of people who already drive electrically indicate that the driving range is better than expected in practice. As many as 97 percent find switching to an EV ‘as expected or better than expected’. 89 percent say that the switch was a good decision. 77 percent think an EV drives better than a car with a combustion engine and 74 percent feel more comfortable in an electric car. 83 percent indicate that the costs of electric driving are lower than expected.
