Do you want to raise or lower the bar during exercise? From watchOS 7 you can adjust your standing and training goal. That is how it works.
Tip: Changing activity goals in watchOS 7
Although you have been able to adjust the red ring for movement for some time, from watchOS 7 you can also change your standing and training goals. That way you can start with a lower goal, or challenge yourself by adjusting your goals upwards. You do that as follows:
- Open the Activities app on your Apple Watch;
Make sure you’ve installed watchOS 7 first.
- Tap on ‘Edit Goals’;
You can find this by scrolling all the way down from the rings.
- Adjust your exercise goal;
By tapping next you also adjust your training goal and standing goal. Tap the plus or minus to increase or decrease your goal.
- Press ‘OK’ to confirm your goals.

The training ring can be adjusted by five minutes more or less at a time, but you can adjust it up to 60 minutes. You can decrease your standing goal to six o’clock, but increase no further than the 12 o’clock goal. The activity rings adapt to your goal. If you lower your activity goals, your activity rings fill up more quickly.
The activity rings are part of the iOS Activities app. The red ring represents your daily goal to get enough exercise. The green ring represents your training goal and the smallest blue ring shows whether you have stood enough today.
