The 5 best iOS apps in the App Store from week 36 – 2017

The week is over and that means that a fresh app overview is waiting for you! As far as we are concerned, you should not miss these new apps, games and updates. You can find the best iOS apps from week 36 here.

The best iOS apps at a glance

The App Store works overtime every week to handle the never-ending stream of new apps and updates. However, you will hardly notice this, because only a small part of it is worth installing. If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch can use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.

1. Streaks Workout

Apple declared the fitness app Streaks Workout as App of the Week this week. This will help you find and keep track of the perfect workouts for your schedule. As soon as you open Streaks Workout you choose how long you want to train. This varies from fast exercises of 6 minutes to longer workouts that last half an hour. Then you choose which exercises you want to do, where you can indicate whether there are exercises that you do not want to do.

The great thing about Streaks Workout is that you don’t need expensive equipment for the exercises from the app, just a floor (with maybe a mat) and some time. Everything you train you do with your own body weight or gravity.

2. Rabobank

From today it will be a lot more difficult for people with an account at Rabobank to transfer money to the wrong person. A name check has been added to internet banking and apps from the Dutch bank. There is no need to download an update from the app for the new function. After opening the Rabobank app, users will automatically receive a notification explaining the change.

Rabobank is the first Dutch bank to introduce this extra check. Other banks also intend to implement the function, but when is still unknown.

3. Telegram

Chat app Telegram now distinguishes itself even more from competitor WhatsApp. The latest update builds completely on the features that the other popular chat app does not have. One of the most useful is the expansion of the @ button, which you can now use to quickly find new entries. In addition, Telegram has used the moment to expand the photo editing in the app.

The chat app has not forgotten the group conversations either. For example, you can now add full sticker bundles to a conversation, which can then be used by all members. Finally, fans of the Twitch livestream service can now follow full broadcasts in the app.

4. Letterboxd

Letterboxd is a popular website for movie lovers that keeps track of all the movies you’ve seen. This social movie site lets users use their watchlist drafting, rating and reviewing movies, and following other people.

Letterboxd can be used without an account, so you get an overview of popular films, lists and reviews that have been posted. However, it is more fun to create an account, so that you can use the app as a watch list and get in touch with friends and other users. Once you have done this, you will see a kind of timeline with all the activity of the people you follow.
