‘Apple will release a foldable iPhone in 2023, will get an 8-inch screen’

Apple’s next blockbuster hit is on the rise. According to a usually reliable analyst, the first foldable iPhone will be released in 2023.

Apple will release a foldable iPhone in 2023

The well-known Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo let us know that the ‘foldable iPhone’ will have an 8-inch OLED screen. Most foldable smartphones of today actually consist of separate screens that you can fold with hinges, but Apple seems to approach it differently.

The insider knows for sure that Apple nanowire will use. This material is very flexible and can fold more than once. Kuo therefore thinks that the foldable iPhone of 2023 can be larger, smaller and folded. Apple is currently already using nanowire for the HomePod’s touchscreen.

According to Kuo, Apple will work with Samsung for the foldable iPhone, among other things. Samsung not only makes smartphones itself, but is also an important supplier to other manufacturers.

Apple would make between 15 and 20 million copies of the flexible iPhone. That is a considerable number, especially if you compare it with other manufacturers. Foldable smartphones are currently anything but a regular part of the street scene.

Next trend among smartphones: foldability

Kuo also thinks that flexibility will become the norm in the smartphone world. Now you still stand out with a foldable device, but within a few years that will be the most normal thing in the world.

At least, that’s what Kuo thinks. He writes that this will blur the boundaries between laptops, tablets and phones. Ultimately, this would ultimately make the software very important: how well does everything work together?

Ming-Chi Kuo is a household name in the iPhone rumor world. He works as an analyst for an investment bank and usually bases his claims on messages from the production chain. Kuo previously shared correct rumors about the iPhone SE and iPhone 12.

On to iPhone 13

The foldable screen is therefore still too early for the iPhone 13. The successor to the iPhone 12 will probably be released at the end of this year and appears to include a new screen, fingerprint scanner under the screen and a better camera.
