BMW X7 gets completely new front

BMW rarely carries out extensive facelifts on its models, but the brand seems to make an exception for the X7. In these spy photos, the facelifted X7 already shows something of its new front.

With birth year 2018, BMW’s largest SUV is by no means an old model, but the design department in Munich already has a refined version in the development rooms. BMW is about to give its X7 a facelift. The X7 is treated more thoroughly than you are used to.

The so-called Life Cycle Impulse (LCI) that BMW is implementing on the X7 promises to give the car a completely new front. The X7 currently has a relatively traditional front, although the size of the kidney grille caused some controversy. On either side of those huge grilles are relatively flat headlights that are not very out of tune in terms of design with the copies in front, for example the 5-series and X5. The front view of the X7 will soon change drastically. BMW is going to spread the lighting over several layers.

These spy photos show a packed X7 on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. Although the size and design of the grille does not seem to have been tinkered with, the X7 will receive completely new lighting. The headlights seem to have moved down one floor and are no longer pressed against the edge of the hood. There may be a thin strip of LED daytime running lights under the camouflage tape above the headlights, although that cannot be said with certainty yet. If it is, then the X7 will soon have lighting distributed over several floors, a design trend that is quite popular in the car world.

The X7 will soon not be the only BMW with a refreshed nose. The X8, the upcoming brother of the X7, also gets a front with the headlights a lot lower than usual. The same goes for the upcoming new generation of the 7-series.
