Have you resolved to stress less this year? That is of course easier said than done. We have listed a number of apps that can help you with this.
Apps to make you less busy
It’s busy at work or study, you still have to answer an email, go shopping and also some appointments: we all know it. Many people resolve to worry less, but that is not always easy.
It is a lot better for your health to lead a balanced life without too much stress. Fortunately, you can change course this year: these apps are going to help you worry less and start 2020 off right.
1. Meditation and Mindfulness
Meditation and mindfulness help you to calm yourself and be in the ‘here-and-now’, without worrying about the future. There are many meditation apps in the App Store.
One of them is Zen. This app helps you to calm down, meditate, concentrate but it also helps you sleep. You set the goals you want to achieve yourself. You conduct the sessions using the app and you also follow your progress.
2. Relaxing Sounds and Breathing Exercises
Music can also help you to ‘de-stress’. Listen to soothing music and try a breathing exercise. The Breethe app helps you to breathe in and out in a regular way, while enjoying relaxing sounds. You will see that you will soon feel calmer.
Breethe helps you calm down with sleep music playlists, nature sounds, and even bedtime stories. There are over a thousand songs to help you calm down, fall asleep and meditate.
3. Organize your schedule with a Tasks app
Making less pressure and less stress works better if you have your tasks in order. If you have to think about all kinds of things, you will never relax. An app for to-do lists is therefore indispensable for an organized life. A handy app is of course the default iOS Reminders app.
With Todoist, you can capture tasks the moment you think of them. You can easily integrate the app with your email and calendar, so you can never forget anything. All you have to do is type “tomorrow at two o’clock” and Todoist immediately recognizes the appointment. It can also be used with Siri and Apple Watch.
4. Limit your screen time
When you’re stressed, putting your phone away for a while can help. Do you find that difficult? The iOS Screen Time feature allows you to set limits for certain apps or all apps at once. Once you’ve reached the limit, you won’t be able to open the app. Do you also want to set this up on your Mac? Then read our tip about Screen Time on the Mac.
You can also try the Forest app. There’s a game element to it: the longer you don’t touch your iPhone, the higher a tree grows. If you do open your iPhone, you’ll have to start over. This way you stay motivated to focus on something other than your smartphone.
5. Soothing game
Try focusing on something other than the things that worry you. You will notice that you will naturally become calmer. There are several games in the App Store that are specially designed to give you relaxation.
One of them is the award-winning game Flower. In this you take a flight with some petals through a vast, green meadow. You tilt your device in the direction you want to fly. Waving in the wind, you will be completely absorbed in the beautiful landscape and fly from flower to flower.
6. Keep an eye on your finances
Money worries are one of the biggest reasons we can worry. It is therefore important to have your money affairs in order and to be aware of what you can and cannot spend.
With Spendee you can keep track of all your expenses, so there are no surprises at the end of the month. You can label your expenses so you know exactly where your money is going. At the end of the month you immediately have a good overview and you can see at a glance where you can save.
