The Notes app on the iPhone is very useful, but sometimes your previously saved notes suddenly disappear. What now? Don’t worry, you have to do this.
Notes disappeared in iCloud: this is the solution
The data you have in the Notes app is synced via iCloud. This ensures that the notes are on all your Apple devices and available there. Don’t you want that? Then it is of course also possible to turn off synchronization, just like synchronizing your Photos or your Safari settings.
But sometimes syncing stops on its own and suddenly all your Notes are no longer available. This sometimes happens after an iOS update. Many iPhone owners also had this problem with the update to iOS 18. Yet there is a simple solution.
Notes disappeared on iPhone: here’s how to fix it
- Go to ‘Settings’ and tap your name;
- Tap ‘iCloud > Notes’;
- Set the slider next to ‘Sync this iPhone’ to on;
- Wait a few minutes and reopen the Notes app;
- The Notes app retrieves your missing notes.
It can sometimes take a while before all your notes are returned. Experience shows that your notes should be available again after about 10-15 minutes. So please be patient.
Still having problems with your Notes?
If you are still having problems after following the steps above, you can try turning off the ‘Sync this iPhone’ slider for a moment and then turning it back on again. Then restart your iPhone once. Just make sure you save the Notes to your iPhone when prompted to avoid further problems.
