OPPO presents the Reno 6 and Reno 6 Pro. It is a flagship and a high-end phone, and they both support 5G. The Pro version has a versatile camera setup and powerful performance.
OPPO Reno 6 (Pro)
In the Fondation Luis Vuitton, OPPO shows its Reno 6 and Reno 6 Pro. With these devices, the brand says it is strongly committed to the video functions of the devices that are made possible by artificial intelligence (AI). We get a flagship and a phone from the high mid-range, and of course both devices with 5G.
Let us first pay some attention to the design of the phones. According to OPPO, the devices have a special shine inspired by the crystallization of snow at freezing point, and it took the brand a year to recreate that effect on the glass back of the Reno 6 series. Glow technology, that’s what OPPO calls it.
AMOLED screen and Snapdragon 870
The Reno 6 Pro has a Full HD 6.5-inch AMOLED panel, while the Reno 6 has a slightly smaller 6.43-inch panel. They each have a 90 Hz refresh rate which makes animations more beautiful, but in terms of brightness there is a difference. The peak brightness of the Pro version is 1100 nits, compared to 750 nits with the Reno 6. The phones do offer support for HDR 10 + content and the richer DCI-P3 color palette. The fingerprint scanner is located under the screen on both phones.

Then there is the performance, and for the Reno 6 Pro, OPPO uses the Snapdragon 870. That is Qualcomm’s overclocked version of the Snapdragon 865, the top chipset of 2020. OPPO then turned to MediaTek again for the Reno 6 which has a Dimensity 900 rpocessor. under the housing. both come with 5G. The Reno 6 Pro comes with a solid 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB, and for the Reno 6 it’s 8 GB and 128 GB.
65 watts fast charging
We know OPPO for its strong fast charging performance and the brand also shows that with the new Renos. They come with a 65 watt fast charger in the box. The Reno 6 Pro also appears with a 4,500 mAh battery and the Reno 6 has a 4,300 mAh battery. The devices run on Android 11 and the ColorOS 11.3 chil and can count on three years of security updates.
There are many differences in terms of the camera on these phones. The Reno 6 has a versatile setup when we look at the lenses: a 50MP main camera, a 16MP wide-angle camera, a 13MP telephoto camera and then a macro camera. With the Reno 6, this is only a 64 MP main camera, a somewhat smaller main sensor in size, with an 8 MP wide-angle camera and a macro camera. The Reno’s has a 32 MP selfie camera at the front.
Video Features
As mentioned, video features are central to the Reno 6 range, and we’ll list the four most important ones:
- Bokeh Flare Portrait Video: Allows users to create scenes with subtly blurred backgrounds for a cinematic result. It also delivers real-time video processing to capture portrait videos with bokeh flares in the background, while keeping the subject sharp and clear.
- AI Highlight Video: this function is powered by a powerful algorithm that enhances the exposure of moving and still images, resulting in bright and vibrant colors.
- Ultra Steady Videos: This feature allows users to stabilize storytellers challenging shooting scenarios.
- Ultra Dark: the Reno 6 shifts automatically activates this mode in low light, so that emotions can be captured clearly even during twilight or at night.
