That off-roader looks like two drops of water on the original Defender, although Ineos says that it has gained inspiration from many iconic off-road vehicles, including the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 and Mercedes-Benz G-class. Anyway, the Grenadier is coming! Ineos will open the order books on Thursday 30 September for the no fewer than 75,000 people who have already indicated that they are interested. From October 14, Ineos will be taking orders from everyone.
What do you lose if you put your signature under a purchase contract? Ineos expects a British starting price of €55,643. Then you have an off-roader with classic lines, equipped with a 3.0-liter six-in-line turbo diesel from BMW with an eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF and a robust-looking yet modern interior. You can count on the fact that the bpm in the Netherlands results in a significantly higher price. In that regard, it may be interesting that Ineos is interested in hydrogen, so a Grenadier with fuel cell may eventually be introduced. Let’s start with the market introduction of the regular Grenadier: it is scheduled for July 2022.
