Countless new Netflix movies and Netflix series appear every month. It is difficult to keep up with all of them, so we would like to list the best movies and series that are new on Netflix. This is what’s new on Netflix in October!

1917

1917 is a film about the First World War and you can already watch it on Netflix. This film won several awards, including a prize for best camera work. When you see the film, you will immediately understand why: everything is filmed in one smooth line, without different scenes. In 1917, we follow two young British soldiers on a mission to traverse a large enemy territory to prevent the death of hundreds of soldiers, including the brother of one of the two soldiers with a very important message.

Maid

The mini-series Maid will be released on Netflix next month and is based on a successful biography of a woman who actually lived the story of Maid. In it, we follow a young mother who leaves her home in the middle of the night after an abusive relationship. She gets a job as a cleaning lady but struggles to build a good future for herself and of course her child. But that turns out not to be so easy. Not only does she have to deal with prejudice, but she also encounters herself and her past quite a bit.

Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn

The DC universe’s favorite villain hits Netflix this month: Harley Quinn has gotten her own movie Birds of Prey after she starred as the crazy jester in Suicide Squad. But in Birds of Prey, the normally obliging Harley no longer accepts that she is only seen as The Joker’s girlfriend. She decides to make her own tracks and leave her past behind once and for all. She does that by literally burning all the bridges behind her.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

What if you find a book full of horror stories, and they become reality after reading it? A group of teenagers find such a book in an old and abandoned house that is now inhabited only by evil spirits. The Bellows family lived in the house, who tortured and imprisoned their daughter Sarah. But Sarah knows how to take revenge in a gruesome way even after her death.

Fifty Shades Freed

The last part of the Fifty Shades series will be released on Netflix this month. In this part, Mr. Gray and Anastasia are happily married and enjoying their extravagant honeymoon. But the past of Mr. Gray appears not to be completely liberated from secrets and some people come forward who demand their attention in an unsubtle way. Could this disrupt Anastasia and Christian’s marital bliss?

The Turning

A grim old estate, a mysterious old woman and two strange orphans with a new nanny who thinks it’s all just a strange situation: they are the perfect ingredients for a horror movie and that’s exactly what The Turning is about. The nanny, named Kate, soon realizes that not only the house itself but also the children are quite strange. Exactly what dark secrets lie behind their weird behavior?

Wyatt Earp

Do you fancy an old-fashioned cowboy movie? Then you’re in luck this month because the biographical western film Wyatt Earp, with Kevin Costner and Gene Hackman, among others, will be released on Netflix this month. The film is based on the life of Wyatt Earp who was born in 1848 and died in 1929. He was a legal person and a gambler. The film describes the life of young Earp, who as a teenager tries to fight in the American Civil War and how his life changes over the years.

Seinfeld

Attention Comedy Lovers! All seasons of Seinfeld will be available on Netflix from October. Set in New York, this series revolves around the life of comedian Jerry Seinfeld and his wacky friends. Because the group of friends consists of four eccentric personalities, they often find themselves in strange situations from which they try to save themselves or each other. And the bassline between the scenes is of course iconic!

Darkest Hour

Winston Churchill was proclaimed Prime Minister when the Second World War broke out and the United Kingdom became involved. He refused to sign a peace treaty with the Nazis and the country fell into not only a war but also a political crisis. Churchill must stand against the Germans but also against his own country when the people and politics cry out for peace.

Deep Impact

A comet threatens to destroy Earth and everything is done to protect humanity. But of course not everyone can be saved and billions of people will die. How do you determine who will and who will not be saved? By holding a random lottery among humanity to select a million people to retell the comet’s impact. In addition, of course, everything is done to prevent the impact of the comet. But will it work? This classic film was directed by Steven Spielberg and stars Morgan Freeman and Elija Wood as the cast.

Ghost Ship

October is the month of Halloween and therefore the perfect time to watch some more horror movies. How about Ghost Ship for example? An abandoned passenger ship floats abandoned and rusted at sea.
