To protect the data on your smartphone, you can lock the terminal or restrict access to certain files with a password. But the must is to simply pretend that your smartphone does not contain any sensitive data. Devilish!
Did you know ? Almost every day priceless goods are transported… on public transport. Blending in with the crowd is sometimes the best way to go unnoticed. Likewise, multiplying locks and passwords on smartphones is also the best way to attract attention. It is on the basis of this observation that developers had the idea of creating “decoy” applications which are in fact real safes in which lie the secrets that must remain so: Hide it Pro, Galerie or GalleryVault in particular. . Here’s how to do it Kyms – Keep your media safe, one of the most successful applications of this type.
The best way to keep data out of sight is to encrypt its content and make access conditional on entering a password. If the operation can be done with a good file manager, it turns out to be much more fun with this application.

1. Set the app unlock code
After installing KYMS on your smartphone, the app appears as a … fully functional calculator. This is of course a decoy. After all, who would go looking for sensitive documents behind a simple calculator? However, the operation of this tool is not limited to a simple trick of camouflage. Launch the app and set a four-digit PIN code that will be required each time you try to access it. Use the numeric keypad of the dummy calculator for this. Confirm by pressing the = key then confirm the combination. KYMS then offers you to encrypt certain content. To do this, press Proceed and choose a password made up of letters and numbers. This combination will be needed to lift the encryption.
2. Select the content to protect
A new screen offers to select the content to protect. Touch the + button in the toolbar and name the folder (Personal Doc for example). Use the Add media banner to specify the type of data (images, videos, local files, text files) and choose a first document. Check the box in front of the file name and copy it to the protected folder with the Import command. Please note that the import will delete the documents from their original location. If you want to uninstall KIMS, be sure to back up the files first.

3. Access secret documents
On your smartphone’s home screen, tap the Kycalc app icon. When the fake calculator is displayed, enter the unlocking PIN code and validate with = to access the list of protected locations. To access the contents of one of the folders, touch its icon then enter the password set during encryption.
