Scan your documents and generate PDF file with your iPhone without third party app.
Since iOS 11, the iPhone can natively scan your documents without having to go through a third-party application.
If the function is unknown, it is probably because it is a little hidden. You have to go to the Notes application which, in addition to taking notes, includes annotation and drawing tools and even a digitization function. Demonstration.
1. Create a new note
Launch the iOS note-taking app and start a new Note by pressing the appropriate button at the bottom right of the screen.
In your new blank note, press the + button in the toolbar, then select Scan documents.
2. Scan the document
The iPhone’s camera activates, frame the document, and capture a snapshot of it. Once your document has been photographed, adjust the framing by pulling on the four handles of the framing displayed in overlay. When you’re happy with the crop, tap Keep Scan.
If you want to scan a multi-page document, the iOS scanner is immediately ready to scan the next page. When you have finished scanning all the necessary pages, press Save.
3. Generate PDF
When your scan is complete and validated, it appears in a bubble in the note you just created.
Then tap the share button at the top right. You can choose to keep it in the Notes application in this form, share it with a third party, or even save it in another file manager.
Sending the file by email and saving it in a file manager will automatically generate a PDF file.
