The new version of the operating system for iPhone and iPad is available in almost final version. If you want to take advantage of it right away, we’ve got you covered.
During its keynote, Apple confirmed that iOS 12 would be available on September 17th. But you do not have to wait for this date since the manufacturer has released the GM (Gold Master) version of its operating system. This version will be, except last minute bug, identical to the final version. To install it, simply register on the Apple site and download a specific profile. Here’s how to do it:
- Launch Safari and go to the site beta.apple.com. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit the button Register now (Where To log in if you are already registered). You need your Apple ID and password. If you don’t have an Apple ID, you can create one on the site.

- Once you are registered or logged in, scroll down the page and tap register your iOS device.

- You will now download the profile to get the GM version. Tap on Download profile, then on To allow.

- Tap at the top of the screen on To install. Enter your PIN code if necessary. Then scroll down and tap on the button. To install, then on To restart. The iPhone restarts to take the new profile into account.

- Now you need to install iOS 12, which is available in updates. To do this, tap on the settings icon, shaped like a gear, in the home screen. Then select General, then Software update.

- The new version is available for download. Scroll down and tap Download and install.

- The download may take a little while because the OS “weighs” 1.59 GB. The iPhone will then restart and you can enjoy iOS 12.
