Rewind or fast forward video on YouTube

If you play a video on YouTube, you can rewind or fast forward by dragging the red dot in the playback bar. That can be tricky at times, especially when you’re only rewinding for a few seconds. There are more convenient ways.

Use the following hotkeys on the keyboard:

• Left arrow
  Jump back 5 seconds.
• Right arrow
  Jump forward 5 seconds.
• J
  Jump back 10 seconds.
• l
  Jump forward 10 seconds.
• 0
  Go to the beginning of the video.
• Digit 1 to 9
  Go to 10% (1-key), 50% (5-key) and 90% (9-key) of the video duration (100%), among others.
• end
  Go to the end of the video.

Rewind or fast forward a video like this:

• Open a video on YouTube.
• Tap twice on the right side of the video. The video jumps forward 10 seconds.
• Tap the left side twice in the video. The video jumps back 10 seconds.
