Download program from App Store (Mac)

Reliable apps (programs) to get more out of your Mac can be downloaded and installed in just a few clicks from the App Store. The digital store is on the Dock at the bottom of the display. Click on it and view the offer via ‘Discover’ or ‘Categories’. The programs offered are free or paid and you pay with the payment method linked to your Apple ID. Updates to the standard applications on the Mac and applications that you have installed yourself via the App Store also arrive via the App Store.

To download an app on a Mac with macOS 10.14 Mojave or later:

• Open the App Store program.
  • Click the icon on the Dock.
  • click on finder > apps (macOS 10.15 Catalina) or Programs (macOS 10.14 Mojave) > App Store.
• Go to the app you want to download. For example, do this via the search function. Click in the search box and type the name.
• Press the Enter key.
• Click on the name of the desired app.
• click on Download > Install.
• If prompted, sign in with your Apple ID.
• The program is installed. As soon as the ‘Open’ button is displayed, the program can be found on the computer. Click on finder > apps (macOS 10.15 Catalina) or Programs (macOS 10.14 Mojave).
• Double-click the new program to open it.
