The Jaguar XJ-C is one of the least common models in XJ-land. The coupé based on the XJ Series II is being modernized in a very exuberant way. None other than the Polish Carlex Design is responsible for the thoroughly revised classic coupé.
We mainly know Carlex Design for the pleasant interiors that it screws into many models, but that is not the only thing the company is up to. Carlex Design is also not averse to visually thoroughly overhauling models and this time the company takes the Jaguar XJ-C also known as the XJ Coupé. The XJ-C is the coupé based on the XJ Series II built between 1975 and 1978 in an edition of less than 10,500 units. In addition to being a Jaguar, that model was also sold as a Daimler Sovereign/Double Six Coupé.
Unlike many recent like resto mod In the designated classics, the Jaguar XJ-C from Carlex Design will not receive an electric powertrain, although the technology is thoroughly tinkered with. For example, the XJ-C does not have a 4.2 six-in-line or 5.3 V12 like the original, but a mighty 400 hp V8. Carlex Design gives the XJ-C not only a modified chassis, but also a modern braking system to properly calm the pumped up classic coupé. From the outside, the creation is decorated with huge wheels and modified bumper work complete with a diffuser containing four exhaust tailpipes. The interior really steals the show in a dubious way. The interior of the XJ-C – which for the time being only exists in digital form – is covered with leather and wood. Carlex Design actually says a handful of copies of this XJ-C are going to build.
