Brighten up the desktop of the Mac computer? Select any image or your own photo as the desktop background.
Set default wallpaper
- Click on the Apple logo > System Preferences.
- click on Desktop and screen saver.
- Click on the tab desktop.
- Click on the image you want as your background.

Click the screen away via the circle with a cross.
The background is turned on immediately.
Set solid color
- Click on the Apple logo > System Preferences.
- click on Desktop and screen saver.
- Click on the tab desktop.
- Click in the left menu Colors or Plain colours.
- Select the color you want to set as the background.
- Click the screen away via the circle with a cross.
The background color is immediately visible.
Set own photo
- Click on the Apple logo > System Preferences.
- click on Desktop and screen saver.
- Click on the tab desktop.
- Click on the left folders > Pictures or photos.
- All photos appear. Isn’t this the case? Then click the plus sign (+) at the bottom left, select the folder containing your photos and click Choose.
- Click on the photo you want to set as wallpaper. The background changes immediately.
- Click the screen away via the circle with a cross.
Always a different background
Do you want the desktop image to change by itself every now and then? Then do the following:
- Click on the Apple logo > System Preferences.
- click on Desktop and screen saver.
- Click on the tab desktop.
- Put a tick in front of Change image.
- Select how often you want an image to change by clicking the arrow and clicking the appropriate interval, for example Every half hour.
- Select the folder from which you want the images to alternate. The background is now adapted to your own wishes.
- Click the screen away via the circle with a cross.
