Plant trees by searching with Ecosia

Use search engine Ecosia and contribute to nature. More than 35 million trees have already been planted on behalf of Ecosia users.

Ecosia is a company with a search site. The profit they earn from the searches and advertisements does not go to shareholders, but to nature. Namely the planting of trees in places where they are desperately needed. Ecosia has partnered with Microsoft’s Bing for the search.

The company was founded in 2009 with the aim of making the world a better place. In 11 years, Ecosia planted more than 35 million trees around the world. In doing so, they support the local communities. ‘We plant native acacia trees because they make the soil more fertile. With our earnings, we have set up a community savings account that enables women to start their own businesses,” said a man from Ethiopia.

To participate in this, nothing special is required. Go to the site from now on www.ecosia.nl and use the search bar to find anything online. Or add the site to the browser for even faster searching. A counter with a tree and a number shows how many trees have been planted thanks to your search.

The Ecosia site does not store any user data, nor does it track their internet behaviour.
