Easily customize the Windows Explorer opening screen. Choose between displaying recent files or fixed folders.
Set up Explorer starting point
The File Explorer opens in Quick Access by default. Here are your recently opened files and frequently used folders. Prefer to use the ‘This PC’ folder as a starting point? Then you have direct access to the most important folders, hard drives and any network locations. More convenient for those who use multiple drives. Setting the Explorer starting point works like this:
- Open the Explorer.
- Open the Folder Options. That’s how it works:
- Windows 10: click the tab Image. Then click Options > Change folder and search options.
- Windows 11: Click the three-dot icon at the top. Then click Options.
- A window opens. Select behind ‘Open explorer in’ the option This PC.
- click on OK.
