According to a new report from Bloomberg, Apple is planning to release a new Vision Pro this year. With this update, the company wants to improve the performance and wearing comfort of the headset.
The renewed version is said to get a faster processor and parts that are even better suited for Apple Intelligence. In addition, Apple would like to renew the headband, so that the Vision Pro is more comfortable. The adjusted Vision Pro is expected this fall.
Small update for Vision Pro
According to Mark Gurman van Bloomberg we can expect a small update for the Apple Vision Pro this fall. This would mainly be a specification improvement in the form of a new processor. Apple would also like to improve wearing comfort with a new headband.
Better performance thanks to M4 chip
The new Vision Pro will probably use an M4 chip, a clear improvement compared to the current M2 processor in the headset. Apple also tests versions with more cores in the Neural Engine, which is essential for Apple Intelligence and the processing of live images.
- Advanced 3NM technology: The M4 is built on a second generation 3-nanometer process, which ensures more efficiency and strength with lower energy consumption
- CPU: Up to 10 cores (4 performance cores and 6 efficiency cores)
- GPU: 10-core GPU with hardware-accerated ray tracing, dynamic caching and mesh shading. This delivers smoother graphics and more realistic images, which is essential for a mixed reality headset like the Vision Pro
- Neural Engine: The M4 has a neural engine that can handle up to 38 trillion operations per second
- In addition, the M4 chip contains an improved one Display engine And powerful memory.

Improved headband
Apple is developing new main tires that should reduce neck and headaches. Many Vision Pro users complain about the weight of the headset, especially after a long time of use. There is a chance that the new headband will be released together with the improved Vision Pro, perhaps users of the first generation can also purchase and use this headband.
Available this fall
The updated Vision Pro with M4 chip is expected in the autumn of 2025. The price and other hardware remain the same as the previous model. In the EU you pay at least € 3999 for the headset. Whether the Vision Pro becomes available in more countries, including the Netherlands and Belgium, is especially unclear.
Future for Vision headset
A thoroughly redesigned and lighter headset is planned for 2027, possibly under the name ‘Vision Air’. According to a leaked roadmap, this model receives a housing of plastic and magnesium alloy instead of glass and aluminum, so that the weight can decrease by more than 40%. The Air also gets a “high-end” iPhone processor instead of an M-chip, no eyeight and fewer sensors, which must further press the price.

The second generation Vision Pro will probably be on the market in the second half of 2028. This model will receive a new design, a Mac processor, will be cheaper and considerably lighter than the original Vision Pro.
