Totem Automobili comes with electric Alfa Romeo GT Junior

Totem Automobili may have heard of the activities of the English Alfaholics. Totem Automobili comes up with a thoroughly modified classic Alfa!

Earlier this month, Techzle wrote about the latest project from the English company Alfaholics, a company that likes to indulge in your classic Alfa. Old Alfaatjes are not only completely restored by the company, but if desired also technically modernized or even prepared for racing. Toten Automobili takes a different approach and has a fully electrically driven classic Alfa Romeo in the development rooms.

Totem Automobili took a Giulia GT Junior as sold between 1970 and 1975 as the basis for his project. The company unscrews all sheet metal parts and replaces them for carbon-fiber units. In addition, Totem Automobili reinforces the frame and uses a completely new aluminum suspension with MacPherson struts in the front and a muilti-link rear suspension. Toten Automobili does not do that just like that. The old petrol engine gives way to a fully electric drivetrain. The converted Alfa will have a whopping 525 hp and 940 Nm strong electric motor, good for a sprint from a standstill to a speed of 100 km / h in just 3.4 seconds. The battery pack weighs a total of 350 kilos and has a capacity of 50.4 kWh, good for a range of about 320 kilometers.

Of course there are many other adjustments. Totem Automobili assembles a new brake system from Brembo, gives the car adjustable dampers, gives the Alfa double viewers in the style of the 1750/2000 and also installs behind new lighting. All lighting units are equipped with LED technology. The interior includes two 3.5-inch large digital screens and the Alfa benefits from the arrival of electrically operated windows, air conditioning and the audio system also makes way for a new one. The ‘GTe’ is said to be making its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but that annual auto party has been postponed due to concerns about the corona virus.
