Suzuki introduces the Full Hybrid, a hybrid powertrain that you do not have to charge, but that allows you to drive fully electrically at a short distance. This debuts in the Vitara.

Suzuki has developed a new powertrain, the Full Hybrid. It will debut in the Suzuki Vitara from January 2022. Later that year, the new S-Cross will also be equipped with this drive. A Full Hybrid is a ‘hybrid without a plug’, so you don’t have to charge it. Nevertheless, short distances are covered completely electrically. This makes the car cleaner and more economical.

The drive in the Vitara has a system output of 85 kW / 115 hp. The power of the 1.5 liter four-cylinder petrol engine is sent to the drive shafts via a six-speed Auto Gear Shift automatic transmission. The electric motor supplies its power directly to these axles. This motor generates extra energy by stopping the motor during deceleration and disengaging the clutch. In addition, it is used to make shifting moments run smoothly.

Optionally, you can also combine the Vitara Full Hybrid with AllGrip four-wheel drive. Suzuki will announce prices as soon as the market launch is imminent.
