According to its creators, the Audi E-tron is due for a series of innovations and improvements. In a wintry landscape of which we here in the Netherlands can only dream for the time being, Audi is testing whether it all works out properly. Lucky for us with less camouflage material on the car.
With its three years, the Audi E-tron is not yet a veteran, but the technology around electric driving is certainly not standing still. Although the WLTP range of the E-tron with over 440 km is not crazy, Audi would of course like to offer a lot more and it now also has the know how for at home. There are rumors that the renewed E-tron will have a range of 600 km and with that it will suddenly become a much more serious EV than it already is. The E-tron would, among other things, be improved in terms of efficiency and get new battery packs to achieve this.
For the time being, we are groping in the dark to what extent this will all become a reality. What is already clear is that the E-tron will at least be slightly sharpened in terms of appearance. These new photos show a little bit more of the headlights getting a slightly different light signature and we also get a glimpse of a new grille with a honeycomb structure inside. However, the changes are not very shocking and that certainly applies to the rear. Count on updated infotainment in the interior in an otherwise well-known packaging.
Given the stage of the test work, it is logical to expect that Audi will be on the road with the renewed E-tron for a few months before the curtain is allowed to come off. We expect it in the showroom in the first half of 2022 at the earliest.
