Mini is working on a completely new generation of (at least) the three-door Mini. Although it is not yet on the market, we can already see it in all its glory.
You could recently read about the future of Mini in AutoWeek 46. A lot is going to happen at the English brand in the coming years. In addition to a new Countryman, there will also be another high-legged model and Mini would even work on a real MPV. Of course, the regular Mini will also receive a successor. Thanks to the attentive sources of Wilco Blok have a closer look now. He was captured uncamouflaged in China.
At first glance you may not see that this really is the new Mini. After all, the front is strongly reminiscent of the current Mini and of course a major change in design due to the retro lines is not made so quickly. However, the rear is strikingly different from the current generation. The shape of the rear lights is completely different. They will be a kind of triangles, quite different from the oval copies of the current Mini. It is clear that the British have misled us in this regard with the camouflaged Mini we saw recently.

The innovation is also clearly visible in the interior. The new Mini gets a pretty minimalist dashboard with what looks like a head-up display as instruments. The traditionally round infotainment screen is no longer integrated into the dashboard, but partly floats above it. Overall it looks much more modern.
It is striking that there is a Cooper S on the back of the spotted car, but no exhaust is visible. We know that there will also be an electric variant of the next Mini, only versions with combustion engines should also come. It is therefore likely that the electric range will be more extensive than is currently the case. Now you can only order the Mini Electric if you want to drive an electric Mini, the other versions (including the Cooper S) still have a combustion engine.
Although the new Mini in any case with its appearance in one fell swoop much less surprises in store for us, it is still a while until Mini reveals the model itself. That will probably happen in the first half of 2022.
