Ring has been around for a while, but Google is now also introducing the preview of who’s at the door on the lock screen. That way, you only need to glance at your locked screen to see a snapshot taken by your video doorbell. The possibility is there for Pixels that run on Android 12.
See who is at the door
If you have a video doorbell, one of the great advantages is that you can already see who is at your door. In some cases you can then choose not to open at all or to be a little faster if, for example, the parcel deliverer leaves quickly.
Sometimes it just takes a while for your feed to load. It is therefore very useful that it increasingly happens that your smart camera and your phone together ensure that you see a screenshot of who is at the door. After all, it makes little sense to see the live video: a ‘photo’ is often enough to see who you are dealing with.

At a Glance
Google Pixel phones running on Android 12 now also get this option. It concerns the widget ‘At a Glance, with which you as a Pixel owner get information at a glance. This will initially provide a text notification that there is activity on your Nest camera, but now also with a screenshot of what is happening in front of your door, it writes. AndroidPolice.
In any case, At a Glance gets a new settings menu, in which you are reminded, for example, that you have the flashlight function on or what is happening within Safety & Emergencies. However, it is not yet possible to use this.
Do you have a phone and a smart camera that offers you previews of who is at the door and do you think that is a useful addition? Leave it now below this article.
