Okay, we have to nuance that. It must be stated that the electric Peugeot 308 will not go as far as the Volkswagen ID.3 Pro and Pro S. Because with its 54 kWh battery, the e-308 will reach a range of slightly more than 400 kilometers, according to Peugeot.
The electric Peugeot 308 will be launched in the summer of next year and will then compete against the Cupra Born, the Opel Astra-e and the Volkswagen ID.3. Peugeot has confirmed to the British Auto Express that the e-308 will be equipped with a 54 kWh battery and a 156 hp electric motor. For comparison: the current Peugeot e-208 and e-2008 have a 50 kWh battery and a 136 hp electric motor.
Electric Peugeot 308 with a range of 400 kilometers
Both models can travel between 340 and 360 kilometers on a full battery. For the upcoming e-308, Peugeot calls a range of up to 402 kilometers. A Volkswagen ID.3 Pro – with a 58 kWh battery – should theoretically be able to travel 426 kilometers. The model can also be ordered as ID.3 Pro S, with a 77 kWh battery and an impressive range of more than 550 kilometers.
Starting price Peugeot e-308 from at least 36,000 euros
Interestingly, Peugeot has also confirmed that the e-308 will be on the market as a hatchback and as a station wagon. There are not yet that many stations with plugs. With a petrol engine, the 308 is available from 28,190 euros. We expect a starting price of at least 36,000 euros for the electric variant. The Peugeot 208 Active can be bought from 21,460 euros, but as an electric e-208 costs almost 30,000 euros.
