According to various rumors, Apple may be acquiring the Peloton company. The fitness equipment manufacturer has been in trouble for some time. iPhoned explains why.
Peloton takeover: Apple is the ideal candidate
Several rumors indicate that Apple is the candidate to take over Peloton. Peloton is an American fitness equipment and media company. They are known for their internet-connected exercise bikes and treadmills. It even allows subscribers to participate in various sports classes remotely. They have multiple options for home fitness equipment as well as a separate app that you can use on your mobile or tablet.

Platoon in heavy weather
However, Peloton has been in heavy weather for some time and has now indicated that it wants to stop with a number of products. For example, the Bike, Bike+ and Tread will be out of production within six months. The Bike is the company’s exercise bike series and the Tread are its various treadmills.
The Information (a technology website) writes that due to the narrowing of the product range and the current state of the company, a possible acquisition is on the horizon. According to the website, Apple would be the ideal candidate for this. Several other sites support this statement.

Peloton vs Apple Fitness+
Peloton’s videos are currently a direct competitor to Apple Fitness Plus. With Apple Fitness+ it is possible to follow workouts, which you can then watch on your iPad, iPhone and Apple TV.
There are all kinds of workouts: from yoga to cycling, dancing and running. All videos can be viewed in Apple’s Fitness app, and the service costs $9.99 per month (or $79.99 per year). Unfortunately, Apple Fitness+ has never been officially released in the Netherlands or Belgium.
