We’ll have to be patient for a while before we can test it ourselves somewhere in warmer climes, but Kawasaki’s fully redesigned Versys 650 for 2022 can already be seen at the dealer, Team Green has announced.
The biggest innovation since its radical makeover in 2016, when the Alien headlight (finally) gave way to the much hipper twin-headlight design, that’s how the 2022 Versys 650 will undoubtedly go down in the history books. In addition to a refreshed design, which is now even closer to the Ninja supersport family, Kawasaki has introduced electronic aids.
For example, the Versys 650 now also has the well-known 4.3″ TFT color display, which shows all important information at a glance and can connect to the Rideology app via an integrated Bluetooth chip. All kinds of things can be done remotely via the app. vehicle information, trip logs and maintenance schedule.
At least as interesting to mention is that Kawasaki has now -finally- provided both a 12V and a USB connection on the inside of the fairing. Of course, the Versys 650 has LED lighting all around, but what also makes us happy is the much friendlier way in which the new screen can be raised.
However, the 2022 Versys 650 has another first, it is the first model from the 650 platform that now also features adjustable traction control. The KTRC has 2 positions and can also be switched off. Mode 1 supports the sporty driving experience and Mode 2 ensures maximum traction in all conditions. As usual, a 35kW version is available for A2 driving license holders.
Initially, the new Versys 650 appeared to be available at the end of this month, but that now turns out to be slightly earlier: the bike is already available at the Kawasaki dealer in the colors Metallic Spark Black/Metallic Flat Spark Black, Metallic Phantom Silver /Metallic Flat Spark Black/Metallic Spark Black and Candy Lime Green/Metallic Flat Spark Black/Metallic Spark Black, for the price tag from € 9,149.
