For the truly avid athlete, a sports watch is the superlative of a fitness band. All data is collected during and after activities, so that you can check exactly how your effort and recovery is. This way you can perfectly coordinate your peak performance. If you want to buy the best sports watch of the moment, we have collected some interesting models for you on this page.
Be mindful of what efforts you put in. If you use a smartwatch while mountain climbing, it is important that it can take a beating. Certain brands specialize in this kind of sturdy watches, which still work when you reach the (proverbial) top. They are equipped with an extra sturdy housing that can survive weather, wind and scratches, for example.
Are you not yet sure whether such a sports watch is something for you? We have already discussed the usefulness of wearables such as sports watches and fitness bands.
Garmin Venu 2
Price: € 345,-
The Garmin Venu 2 is perhaps the most beautiful smartwatch for athletes and also offers the advanced measurements that Garmin is known for. What gives the Garmin an edge over smartwatches is that the battery can last for eleven days on a single charge. You can also sync your smartphone notifications with your Garmin watch and control your music.
Polar Grit X
Price: € 349,-
A good sports watch can cost a bit. But Polar doesn’t really excel in design. The watch case is much too big and the screen also seems like a trip back in time. It’s about the other side of the watch case that is full of precise sensors. They mainly help avid athletes to measure their performance. Users are also actively encouraged to take sufficient rest.

Apple Watch Series 7
Price: € 529,-
The Apple Watch is very popular with many athletes. Apple’s measurements may be slightly less accurate than Garmin and Polar’s, but the smartwatch is very accessible to use and has many features that benefit athletes.
But other functions also come in handy, such as the option to make a heart film and fall detection (whereby an emergency number is called after a fall). Only an Apple Watch may be too vulnerable and the battery life too short for, for example, mountain climbers, Viking runners or mountain bikers.
