Skoda brings software update to Enyaq iV

Skoda comes with a major software update for the Enyaq iV and Enyaq Coupé iV. Software version ME3 includes improvements to the infotainment system, the head-up display and better thermal management of the battery pack. The new software will also be available to existing Enyaq owners in the second half of this year.

The ME3 software includes additional functions for battery management. The Enyaq will include a ‘battery maintenance’ mode, with which the car saves the life of its battery as much as possible if you have enabled that mode. This means, among other things, that the battery is charged to a maximum of 80 percent in this mode and the DC charging speed is limited. If you switch off the ‘battery maintenance’ mode, you can still use the full fast charging capacity and all net battery capacity. In addition, Skoda improves the thermal management of the battery. The temperature control is now activated and continuously adjusted at lower temperatures than before. According to Skoda, this leads in practice to a better range and a longer battery life.

Furthermore, the maximum charging speed will also increase, which should result in shorter charging times. The 62 kWh battery can now be powered with a maximum of 120 kW (previously 100 kW), with the variants with the 82 kWh battery pack, the maximum charging speed is 135 kW (previously 125 kW).

To make it easier to plan charging stops on longer journeys, you can now see how many charging stops you need to make to get to your destination under the ‘Charging’ menu. For all planned charging stops en route, the remaining battery capacity and the expected charging time are displayed. The new software also includes improvements to the views in the Digital Cockpit and the Head-up Display. In addition, the four-wheel drive versions of the Enyaq will have a ‘traction mode’, which should make starting off on unpaved or slippery roads easier and provide constant all-wheel drive at speeds of up to 20 km/h. The traction control also intervenes less quickly when driving off. Handy for winter sports.

Since the start of production of the Skoda Enyaq Coupé iV, Skoda has installed the new software variant in all Enyaq iVs. Existing customer cars will be updated free of charge by the dealer from the second half of this year. The relevant customers will receive a message from Skoda about this. This is emphatically not an over-the-air update.
