A man from the United States has been arrested for misusing his Apple Watch. He stalked his girlfriend with the Apple smartwatch. Read in this article how and why he did this.
Apple Watch used for stalking
A Nashville man has been arrested for tracking his girlfriend’s location. He attached an Apple Watch to the hubcap of her car and used the Find My app to track her. The act seemed impulsive, as the Apple Watch isn’t Apple’s first device people think of when they think of stalking.
The perpetrator would have been better off opting for a cheaper, more invisible and more fall-resistant AirTag, which has been in the news a lot because of its excellent (and therefore scary) qualities to stalk.

Friend known to the police, previously domestic violence
The incident involving the attachment of the Apple Watch to the hubcap is a continuation of previous events between the Tennessee couple. The perpetrator has previously been charged with domestic violence.
The woman told police that she and the perpetrator used the Life360 location app to monitor each other 24/7. However, she turned off the location of this app when she visited a domestic violence center. When she did this, she was immediately bombarded with text messages and calls from her boyfriend.
The perpetrator then took matters into his own hands to bypass deactivation of the Life360 app on the woman’s device. The friend attached the (expensive) Apple Watch to the inside of the hubcap and followed the woman via the ‘Find My’ app. A confrontation at the domestic violence center eventually led to the police arresting the man. They discovered the hiding place of the Apple Watch when the man descended by the car and conjured up the smartwatch before the perpetrator confronted the victim.

Apple Watch is more positive in the news more often
This application of the Apple Watch is very unusual. Most stalking-related stories revolve around AirTags. Unfortunately, despite the fact that the AirTags have been given anti-stalking features by Apple, the technology still plays a central role in many stalking stories.
The Apple Watch, on the other hand, is only positively in the news. For example, it saw a clogged artery before hospital equipment and the Apple Watch detected a disease before the nurse knew it.
