Plus: first photos GSi version
Opel Insignia GSi Sports Tourer
The renewed Opel Insignia, presented in December, is getting new engines. So also the GSi version, the brand of which is now launching the first photos.
Opel announces more about the updated Insignia, the first photos of which we saw last month. The Opel flagship will receive various new engines. The existing 1.5 petrol engine makes way for a 1.4 with 145 hp and a 2.0 with 200 hp. The latter is standard connected to a nine-speed automatic gearbox. The diesel offer includes a 1.5 with 122 hp and a 2.0, which will be added to the range a few months after the introduction. Opel promises up to 18 percent lower fuel consumption of the new engines.
Updated GSi
Opel is showing the updated GSi version of the Insignia for the first time. In addition to the small external changes that apply to each Insignia, the GSi is specifically equipped with a new front bumper with triangular air intakes. Just as before, the model has an adjustable chassis and four-wheel drive. The Insignia GSi, which is supplied as GrandSport and Sports Tourer, has a more powerful version of the 2.0 petrol engine on board, with 230 hp. That is still 30 hp less than before, but due to the new nine-speed automatic transmission, the differences in performance are probably negligible. Opel does not yet release figures for comparison.
The renewed Insignia can be ordered later this month, the prices are not yet known.
