Acer has introduced two new Chromebooks: a tablet with a stylus called Chromebook Tab 510 and a high-end convertible Chromebook. The 10.1-inch Chromebook Tab 510 has an extra sturdy housing with also a place to tuck the stylus.
Acer Chromebook Tab 510
Chromebooks and tablets have been merging for some time since the arrival of devices like the Google Pixel Slate and the Lenovo Ideapad Duet. Acer has announced a robust 10.1-inch tablet with the Chromebook Tab 510, which comes with a detachable keyboard and a stylus that gets a place in the housing.
First of all, there is the 10.1 inch IPS LCD display that has a Full HD resolution. The 16:10 aspect ratio should make the tablet more suitable for productive tasks such as editing documents or taking notes. In addition, Acer is clearly committed to sustainability. The screen has Corning Gorilla Glass protection and the case has received MIL-STD 810H certification, indicating a military grade of protection.
Stylus and keyboard
An important aspect of this tablet are the accompanying accessories. It only comes with a stylus that supports 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity. You can also tuck the stylus away at the top of the frame of the Chromebook Tab 510. Optionally, you can also purchase the Keyboard Folio Case that lets you work with the Chromebook with a POGO connection.
The chipset of the Chromebook Tab 510 is a Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 that works with a 4G modem. That’s not the most powerful processor, but it’s fine for basic tasks. The Snapdragon chipset is also economical and, according to Acer, the Chromebook Tab 510 can work for 11 hours on a single battery charge. Finally, the device has a webcam and an 8 MP camera on the back.
Acer Chromebook Spin 714
In addition to the new tablet, Acer has also announced another device in the highest price segment. The Chromebook Spin 714 is a 2-in-in convertible that works with a 14-inch touchscreen with 16:10 aspect ratio. That panel is available in both a Full HD and QHD version and this Chromebook also comes with a stylus.
Under the case are processors of the twelfth generation of Intel Core, and the most powerful is a Core i7. With these processors ASUS promises a battery life of up to 10 hours and after 30 minutes on the charger you can use the Chromebook Spin 714 for four hours. It also includes a webcam with two microphones that support noise reduction in video conferencing. According to Acer, the device also has high-quality speakers and it comes with a number of ports, including an HDMI port and two Thunderbolt 4 connections.
