Good news! The iPhone 14 gets a few new features. According to an Apple analyst, both the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will get better ProMotion and an always-on screen.
iPhone 14 Pro (Max) gets better ProMotion
That the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max getting a ProMotion screen goes without saying. Apple already has this special screen in the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. With ProMotion, the screens have a refresh rate of 120Hz. This makes scrolling through your social media, for example, much smoother than before.
According to the latest rumors from Ross Young (a phone screen analyst), Apple is going to improve ProMotion on the new iPhones. The ProMotion screen of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max has a refresh rate between 10Hz and 120Hz. That means that the screen refreshes at least 10 times per second.
According to Ross, Apple will lower the refresh rate to 1Hz. This means that the screen can only refresh once per second. The great thing about this is that your phone uses even less energy, which is of course good news for your battery.
Always-on screen for iPhone 14
Another advantage of the improved ProMotion screen of the iPhone 14 Pro is that Apple can also provide the device with an always-on screen. The Apple Watch Series 7 already has a screen that allows them to lower the refresh rate to 1Hz.
Reliable analyst Mark Gurman also believes that Apple is taking the first steps towards an always-on screen with the better ProMotion screen in the iPhone 14 Pro. But he does say that Apple will not necessarily introduce the always-on function in September.
