Although Volkswagen claims that the planned delivery of the ID.3 is not endangered despite alleged production problems, it will still take several months before the ID.3 appears on the street. To be able to see what it is like to have an ID.3 at your doorstep, Volkswagen has come up with a new technical gadget.
The brand has ensured that everyone with a smartphone or tablet Volkswagens can park their new EV in a virtual way. Without the need to download a special app, a 3D version in augmented reality of the ID.3 appears on the screen.
How does it work? In the Google results of the search term “Volkswagen ID.3” a button will appear with “Display in 3D”. If you click on this and move the camera back and forth over the place where the ID.3 should be placed, you will then see an ID.3 in full size. This does not only have to be on the street. It is also possible to park the ID.3 in the living room, study or on the balcony. Essential? No. Amusing? Yes.
