Renault is not averse to a spoonful of fish eggs. The brand announces the arrival of the Hippie Caviar Motel, a rather bizarre concept car based on the electric Kangoo E-Tech Electric.

In 2021 Renault pulled the curtain on the Hippie Caviar Hotel, a conceptual campervan based on the Trafic. Renault is now translating the concept of the Hippie Caviar Hotel into the electric version of the new Kangoo. The Kangoo is the smaller and cheaper brother of the Trafic and so Renault also opts for the cheaper alternative of a hotel in terms of naming for its new show car.

In these photos you see the Renault Hippie Caviar Motel, a version of the electric Renault Kangoo E-Tech Electric converted into a camper van.

According to Renault, the Hippie Caviar Motel is packed with smart storage options, including to take ‘sports equipment’ with you. This way you can attach your skis to the roof rack. Renault equips the Hippie Caviar Motel with a large panoramic roof. By folding down the rear seats, you can conjure up a single bed. Things like the floor and various storage compartments are made from things like recycled car tires and cork. So much attention for renewability and that is probably the reason why Renault does not serve the Hippie Caviar Motel with a can of unfertilized eggs from the sturgeon.

Just like the electric Kangoo E-Tech Electric, this Hippie Caviar Motel has a range of about 285 kilometers. On September 19, Renault will present the Hippie Caviar Motel in its entirety at the IAA Transportation commercial vehicle show in Hanover.
