New Acura TLX shows up

Honda’s luxury brand Acura has a completely new TLX in the development rooms. The first images of the new sedan have already surfaced in the database of an international patent office.

Acura pulled the canvas of the TLX in 2014, a brand new sedan that succeeded the TL and the TSX. Three years after its arrival, the model was tackled quite thoroughly in 2017. Acura moved away from the distinctive, almost beak-like grille it applied to its models, which meant that the TLX, like the MDX that preceded it, was fitted with a more conventionally shaped snout. We are now three years later. Time for a new TLX!

The new TLX seems to have a more dynamically designed body than the current model, and that does not come out of the blue. Last year, Acura already lifted the sporty Type S Concept on stage, a study model that has clearly served as a model for the fresh TLX. Although the sedan seen from behind may have some similarities with the Opel Insignia, the Acura retains its own face. At the front we observe headlight units that are designed in the same style as the current ones. The grille seems to shrink a buddy and looks a lot flatter than the one that is currently on the TLX. The striking shoulder line of the Concept S returns in a toned-down form to the production-ready TLX.

We expect Acura to pull the curtain off the model in the second half of this year. The car is not coming to Europe.
