Peppered Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 caught

There is no shortage of power variants in the various Porsche model families. It seems that the delivery range of the 718 Cayman will be extended in the long term with a very heavy variant.

Not only the 911 range has a wide range of versions and variants, the portfolio of the 718 Cayman and 718 Boxster is also quite extensive. The most recent addition to the 718 family is the GTS 4.0, a peppered version equipped with a 4.0 liter six-cylinder boxer engine. Both the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman have to tolerate the 420 hp GT4 variant as GTS 4.0, but that GT4 variant does not seem to be the king of the 718 family for long.

On the Nürburgring, an impressive looking but unfortunately still covered with camouflage stickers, a test copy of an even heavier 718 Cayman has surfaced. The heavily spoiled coupé is richly equipped with cooling openings and slots. Additional air intakes are visible at the location of the rear side window, among other things. Of course, the extra air that the Cayman draws in is used to properly ventilate the trained six-cylinder. It is not yet clear how powerful the new superlative 718 Cayman GT4 will be. Don’t be surprised if the six-cylinder in the compact coupé breaks the 450 hp mark. Later this year we expect more information about the upcoming top version of the 718 range.
