Renault Trafic E-Tech Electric

There are already fully electric versions of the Kangoo and Master and now the Renault Trafic is also getting an electric powertrain. The Renault Trafic E-Tech Electric makes its public debut side by side with the Hippie Caviar Motel.

For the first time since the launch of the first generation Trafic in 1980, the commercial vehicle is available in a fully electric version. The Renault Trafic E-Tech Electric has a 52-kWh battery in its bottom. That battery pack feeds a 120 hp electric motor and gives the commercial vehicle a range of 240 kilometers. Electric E-Tech Electric versions already exist of the smaller Kangoo and the larger Master.

The Renault Trafic E-Tech Electric is available in various sizes. There are 5.08 and 5.48 meters long versions and variants that are 1.97 or 2.5 meters high. Depending on the chosen length and height, the Trafic E-Tech Electric offers a loading volume of 5.8 to 8.9 cubic meters. The maximum towing weight is 750 to 1,100 kilos. In addition to panel vans, the Platform Cabine variant will also be added to the range as E-Tech Electric. A 50 kW DC on-board charger is optional. Specific information for the Dutch market is not yet available.

Hippie Caviar Motel

Then there’s the Hippie Caviar Motel, a concept car announced in August based on the electric Kangoo E-Tech Electric. This Kangoo converted into a camper van has a roof rack on which you can attach skis. It has a large panoramic roof and a folding rear seat that makes it possible to create a sleeping area in the Kangoo.
